This site was started in the beginning because of family and friends (especially my nephews and

nieces who moved to the Mainland to either attend school or find work) who always when on the

phone or e-mails, mention all the things that they think about while away from home.  The phrase

“homesick for Hawaii” came up quite often.

I would always try to send some kind of picture or gift, to give them a feeling of being a little closer to

home - and that’s when it hit me.  “Homesick for Hawaii”  became  HomeSeek4Hawaii.com.  I liked

the name because when your homesick, you want to seek out things from home, hence the name. 

After that, other ideas sprung up from this name.

One of them was the Homeseek4Hawaii photo greeting cards.  These were of places

and things that I felt would remind me of Hawaii if I had gone away for a while.  The

first volume was created and sold as an experiment to see if others saw the Islands

the way that I did.

The comments that I received were filled with excitement  and appreciation from those

who had either sent or received one of these greeting cards, as it brought back many

delightful memories.  Since then I have been gathering more materials for another

collection hoping to accomplish the same goals - to bring a little happiness to people

wherever in the world they may be.

On the following pages are some photos of places around the island of Oahu and some places in Hilo

on the Big Island.  These are just to show some of the common things that occur on a daily basis here

in Hawaii. Some places may or may not be recognizable, but all of the Islands have similarities in

different locations that will give you a familiar feeling of home in Hawaii.

Each of the Hawaiian islands have unique features that the others don’t - and this uniqueness is what

shapes the lives of the people on it.

There are differences in the attitudes and life styles, even between people within the same family

living on different Islands.  If you’ve lived here for a while you will know what I mean.  Perhaps

through some of the photos posted on this site and future photos to come, you will be able to get a

glimpse of life in this incredible place - Hawaii.
